Email phishing remains one of the most prominent–and dangerous–forms of cyberattack.
But as users adapt and efforts are made to increase awareness of the prevalence of phishing, attacks via mobile device have become more common.
One of the reasons is that the user interface on mobile devices is necessarily simpler and more limited because of limited space. Additional information that can help a user avoid a malicious link–like the full URL–frequently doesn’t appear on a mobile screen.
So stay wary of emails –and texts– on your mobile device. As always, the best practice is simply not to click on external links embedded in messages.
